The Reading Club / Club Lecture is designed to inspire a genuine love of reading in French while creating a welcoming space for learners to explore books they may not encounter on their own. Its mission is to bring together enthusiastic readers from different classes, grade levels, and age groups, giving them the chance to share ideas, discover new authors, and enjoy French literature in a supportive community. The club encourages participants to read more regularly, broaden their literary interests, and build confidence in expressing their thoughts during discussions. It also provides a platform to practice public speaking, active listening, and respectful debate.
During each session, the Club Lecture host will guide the group through selected excerpts from the chosen book, analyzing elements such as slang expressions, conversational French, rhetorical style, and cultural references. This approach helps students deepen their comprehension and understand not only what the text says, but how it communicates its message. Participants will work on improving their French pronunciation, reading fluency, vocabulary, and overall text interpretation skills.
Whether you are in elementary school, high school, or an adult learner, the Reading Club welcomes all levels and backgrounds. It is a place to grow linguistically, think critically, and enjoy the richness of French literature together.
